The Easter Public Holidays for 2016 are as follows:

  • Good Friday – March 25 – is a public holiday.
  • Easter Saturday – March 26 – is a normal trading day.
  • Easter Sunday – March 27 – is not a public holiday.
  • Easter Monday – March 28 – is a public holiday.
  • Easter Tuesday – March 29 – is not a public holiday and applies to the public sector only.

Please note that staff employed under an award or agreement are entitled to be paid in accordance with the public holiday pay provisions within the industrial instrument.

The industrial instrument may also provide for the treatment of a public holiday where it falls on a full time employee’s rostered day off.
