The Premier and Minister for Hospitality and Tourism, Will Hodgman, today signed an historic memorandum of understanding with the Tasmanian Hospitality Association on behalf of the State Government. The agreement formally recognises the THA as the peak industry body in Tasmania, as well as committing the Minister and the THA to work collaboratively on strategies for industry development. The Tasmanian Hospitality Association’s monthly occupancy statistics show Northern Tasmanian hotels enjoyed stronger growth in July than the other two regions. THA General Manager Steve Old said occupancy in Northern Tasmania jumped a further 2.24 per cent on July last year, taking its overall occupancy to above 50 per cent.
