Our Keynote Speakers
Ben Roberts - Smith VC MG
Ben is a recipient of the Victoria Cross for Australia, the Medal for Gallantry and Commendation for Distinguished Service. He received his Victoria Cross in 2011 for his gallant selfless actions as an SAS soldier on his fifth tour of Afganistan.
As the most highly decorated soldier within the Commonwealth from the war in Afganistan, and one of few living recipients of the Victoria Cross worldwide, Ben's inspirational real life stories provide an insight into authentic leadership and selfless service.
Ben is a rare and motivational individual who has the ability to talk at all levels and is one of this nation's proven leaders. He will not only drive your team to succeed but will provide the vision of a leader who has been charged with providing the Australian Government with positive strategic outcomes in some of the world's most dynamic environments for over 17 years.
Alla Wolf - Tasker
Alla Wolf - Tasker is a true culinary revolutionary. As one of the country's most influential chefs, Alla has perfected the art of Australian regional cooking.
The chef has described her road into hospitality as 'a given' after being brought up by Russian migrant parents with a shared passion for food and entertaining. With some stints in local restaurants under her hat, the young chef took off for France where she struck upon the idea of brining the qualities of French country house cuisine back to her home.
The idea created a highly productive thirty years at Lake House, with her winning many admirers for her fresh approach. Her style celebrates luxurious ingredients with a steady hand. Alla released her first cookbook in 2013 (A Culinary Journey in Country Australia) and continues to use her position to support young chefs and the local community.
Premier Will Hodgman MP
The premier was first elected to Parliament at the 2002 state election, and from day one has been a huge advocate and supporter of the Tourism and Hospitality industries.
At the completion of the 2014 state election and with his party winning majority government, the Premier elect was quick to take on the portfolio Ministries of Tourism and Hospitality, and went about setting strong targets for the industry and government to achieve; one such goal was to attract a record 1.5 million visitors to Tasmania by 2020.
As we near a state election in March 2018, it is timely that our Premier has accepted our invitation to speak at our conference and update the industry on "where we are now" and "where he wants to take us into the future."
Rest assured, listening to him speak at the conference will be a must for anyone involved in our industry.
